Reports of ‘angelic visitation’ are rapidly growing in these last days. The problem is the so-called angels bear a striking resemblance to our false religious statues and images. How can these be God’s ‘angels’ appearing to people in visions and dreams when – like our false statues and images – they do not even match the Biblical description of angels? Ecclesiastes 5:7: For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God. We vainly have graven images of what we imagine angels in heaven to look like and are directly disobeying God’s commandments. Even having statues and images matching the Biblical description of an angel (which would be the likeness of a man without wings) is also wrong because scripture says we are not to have images or likenesses of anything that is in heaven above. Exodus 20:4 and Deuteronomy 5:8: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above… Deuteronomy 4:16 says: Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female. New Living Translation reads: So do not corrupt yourselves by making a physical image in any form – whether of a man or a woman. The Hebrew word for ‘similitude’ in Deuteronomy 4:16 (OKJV) is “tem-oo-naw’; …something portioned (i.e. fashioned) out, as a shape…image, likeness”. II Corinthians 11:14: And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. By having these images and statues (false angels of light) in our home we allow Satan to open spiritually evil doorways into our life. We even put these false angels of light in our children’s rooms. By doing this we create a spiritually evil pathway to our children. Their bedrooms are covered with these false images, and people have them in every room, creating spiritually unclean doorways throughout their entire house. Some people also decorate their lost loved one’s grave with them to signify their loved one’s spirituality; or as some sort of supposed protection to them in their grave.
Many people have told me they are being visited by angels; saying they see them walking around their home as if they are protecting them. My response is: If an angel appears to a person and it looks like a statue or image they have in their home, then the angel is false. It is an evil spirit referred to as a ‘familiar spirit’ and this evil spirit appears to a person as the image of something, or even someone, with whom the person is ‘familiar’. Even if the angel appearing did match the Biblical description of an angel the Bible says they should try (Greek meaning discern) the spirit to see if it is from God. I John 4:1: BELOVED, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Galatians 1:8: But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. II Corinthians 11:14: And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. When scripture says try the spirit it does not mean to talk to it or ask it questions, because if it is a demon we should never attempt to communicate with demons. If a person is being visited by what they believe is an angel they should read scripture out loud and continue doing so until they see a response, whether a positive or a negative response – then they will know who sent it. If the response is negative command it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. If the false spirit tries to re-appear then continue reading scripture out loud until it leaves – you may even have to do this several times. Pray for the Lord to show you if you have something in your home that is helping this evil spirit gain entrance. If you do then get rid of the item, especially if the item resembles or is in some way connected with the spirit that is visiting you. Do not give the item to anyone else, just destroy it!
False angel images and statues are everywhere today. These winged images are even in churches, when God’s word plainly says not to have these pagan abominations! Jeremiah 7:30: For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the Lord: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it. Jeremiah 32:34: But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it. Ezekiel 44:12: Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity. Deuteronomy 27:15: Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen. It does not matter how many wings we put on them they are still idols, and they are an abomination to God. I Chronicles 16:26 and Psalm 96:5: For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.
Both the world and the church have certainly gotten carried away in their “fleshly minds” where angels are concerned. Colossians 2:18: Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up in his fleshly mind. If you do not believe these images are fashioned from the fleshly mind then why do the lady winged images have breasts? Why are the winged baby images naked; usually bent over with bare-bottom exposed? Why is fleshly lust running rampant in the church? All the promotion about angels is even leading people (many of them Christians) to watch television programs or read books that promote interaction with spirits, which the media calls angels – and some of this interaction includes lust and sexual contact. Christian people are watching movies that promote sexual interaction with angels or with what are supposed to be the spirits of the dead [necromancy]. By watching these movies they are actually stepping out of the realm of God’s protection and are inviting the succubus and incubus spirits [which are evil sexual spirits] into their life. See dictionary for the exact meaning of these sexual spirits. You may have never thought of it affecting you, but I pray that God is starting to open your Spiritual eyes. Matthew 13:16: But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. Isaiah 29:18: And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
Another misconception many have about angels is when they refer to people as angels. This phrase is used especially when referring to infants and children. However, our infants and children are not little angels. All people are created in the image and likeness of God, not in the image and likeness of angels. Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Calling a person an angel is underestimating their true of identity in the Lord. People are not angels. We have a special inheritance through the blood atonement of Jesus Christ – an inheritance of salvation that angels do not receive. Ephesians 1:10-11: That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will. If we claim anything other than the fact that through salvation we become sons and daughters of God, then we are not showing our children the importance of what Jesus has done for them. Jesus did not die for angels, He died for people! Instead of telling them that they are ‘angels’ we need to be claiming their God given heritage as the sons and daughters of God, who by His love for them sacrificed His very own Son.
How can people be angels when scripture says we will judge angels? I Corinthians 6:3: Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more things that pertain to this life? We have a different role in life than angels. Even in death we are different because angels do not die. (Note: this is an important way in determining if a spirit ever visits you claiming to be your guardian angel and says it died in the past, but has come back to watch over you and to help you, it is lying! Angels do not die.) Angels are ‘spirit’ not flesh, and they never were flesh – which is the reason angels should not be portrayed as people, or portrayed using images fashioned after the flesh. This is just one of man’s devices!
Important note: Some people may try and use Acts 6:15 about Stephen to claim that people can be angels. The Bible says in Acts that Stephen’s face looked as if “it had been the face of an angel” – however, Stephen was not an angel – angels are spirit not flesh. Acts 6:15: And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel. The Greek word for ‘angel’ in Acts 6:15 is “aggelos, ang’-el-os; …a messenger… a pastor”. Stephen was telling the council the message of salvation, which is available only through Jesus Christ, and as he gave this message the power of the Holy Spirit was shown in Stephen’s countenance. But, Stephen was not an angel.
Because of God’s love for us He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The inheritance we must leave for our children is to tell them the truth of what the Bible says. People are not angels. Having man-made images of what we think are angels is an abomination. Believing the ‘deception’ that people are angels has led many people astray and caused them to participate in ‘necromancy’, which is forbidden by God. Deuteronomy 18:9-12: When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, and that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee. See my document on ‘necromancy’, it includes a comment about a popular television evangelist who is unwittingly practicing it. People are talking to evil ‘familiar spirits’ that are masquerading as their dead ancestors. They are being deceived! They believe that the spirit of their dead ancestor has come back to be their ‘guardian angel’. A person’s spirit does not wander around after death, it either goes to heaven or to hell. When a person who is saved dies they are in the presence of the Lord. Ecclesiastes 12:7: Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. II Corinthians 5:6-8: Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Believing our ancestors are angels is not scriptural. God’s angels are not family members, but strangers. Hebrews 13:2: Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Many who talk to spirits (a dangerous practice) will argue that a spirit is not evil if the spirit tells them to do good things (or, at times, even quotes scripture). Regular communication with a false (evil) spirit will lead the person to trust in it (increasing the spiritual blindness of that person) and then the spirit slowly lures them to do evil. People who talk to, or consult, the dead are not communicating with their ancestors, or with angels, but are communicating with evil spirits called ‘familiars’. These are the same evil spirits that are familiar with your family history! Again, see my document on 'necromancy'. Necromancy falls under the same category as ancestor worship. The two are virtually the same in comparison.
Having statues, or pictures, in our home of what we think are angels will invite evil ‘familiars’ to visit. These false images are pagan, and the influence behind them is evil. The baby graven image with wings that people refer to as a ‘cherub’ is nothing more than ‘cupid’, which is a mythological creature. See my documents on ‘cupid’ and on ‘mythology’. Mythology is the belief in many gods, and it is a false religion. We are not to have any images that represent false religion – including those passed down to us through religious tradition. To put it plain and simple, this is paganism, and idolatry!
Christians somehow think because they own these images that the images are not considered pagan anymore, and somehow it is now acceptable to God. We are supposed to be leading people out of darkness, not mixing paganism and Christianity together, creating a spiritual prison. Isaiah 42:7: To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. How can we, as Christians, help open the eyes of the blind when we are blind? Isaiah 42:17-20: They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to molten images, ye are our gods. Hear, ye deaf, and look, ye blind, that ye may see. Who is blind, but my servant? Or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? Who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the Lord’s servant? Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not. Jeremiah 5:21: Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not. The Bible says that true worshippers will worship God in spirit and in truth, not in flesh and in truth. John 4:23: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Psalm 145:18: The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
This teaching is not meant condemn God’s people; I love God’s people enough to share the truth with them. The truth is when we love God we will desire to obey His commandments. I John 5:2-3: By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. John 14:15: If ye love me, keep my commandments. I John 2:3-5: And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. We, like the house of Israel, need to get the idols out of our homes and out of our hearts. Ezekiel 14:7-8: For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the Lord will answer him by myself: And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people and ye shall know that I am the Lord. We are drawn to the things that our heart desires, and if we desire to have so-called religious idols and images more than we desire to follow the commandments of God we will not be able to have a real relationship with God. Psalm 66:18: If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. Having idols in our heart instead of God’s commandments will separate us from God, causing us to fall. Proverbs 10:8: The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
Many Christians say; I am not worshipping these pictures and statues, and therefore they think the commandment in Exodus 20:4-6 and Deuteronomy 5:8-10 does not apply to them. In scripture (Exodus 20:4-6 and Deuteronomy 5:8-10)the children were “visited with the iniquity of the fathers, unto the third and fourth generations”. The Hebrew word for ‘iniquity’ in Exodus 20:5 and Deuteronomy 5:9 is “avon, aw-vone’; or avown; perversity, i.e. (moral) evil… mischief, punishment (of iniquity), sin”. Exodus 34:7 and Numbers 14:18: The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. God says the children will be visited with the iniquity of their forefathers even though the children do not actually bow down to the unclean objects themselves. Due to the lack of knowledge of God’s Word generations of children grow up and participate in the sins of their forefathers, which begins with displaying unclean so-called Christian objects in their homes. By displaying these unclean objects – likenesses of the objects their ancestors may have bowed to – they are reinforcing a spiritual chain of temptation and iniquity. Evil familiar spirits are encouraged to continue visiting every generation in an effort to reinforce the same pattern of temptations. These evil familiar spirits are the ones who are visiting people in their homes and they are being drawn there through our pagan images – or our so-called religious décor.
Our children are paying the price Spiritually because of our ignorance and they too are being tempted by evil spirits to commit our, or our ancestors same sin. In this generation both we and our children have not been taught the truth about the Word of God, and this has hurt us (and them) Spiritually. Biblical lack of knowledge has allowed a generational pattern of ‘iniquity’ to continue, and with each generation it is getting increasingly worse. Just as our ancestors before us we, as Christians, have not put into practice the true Word of God – and this has hurt and even oppressed both us and our children Spiritually. We have gone along with the ‘traditions of men’ instead of the ‘Word of God’. We, and our children, will never know God’s truth if we do not start learning and keeping His commandments. Deuteronomy 5:29: O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! I John 2:3-5: And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
Our fathers before us have followed their own traditions, but we must be the generation that comes apart from this religious tradition. We must increase in our knowledge of God’s Word, and turn from our traditions, if we are going to teach our children to overcome evil. It is important – now more than ever before – for Christians to be wise to Satan’s devices or we too will be spiritually deceived. Just as many have already been deceived through religious tradition. If our children will ever overcome the evil of this world they must first know the truth of God’s Word. John 17:17: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Our forefathers never experienced the level of evil that we are seeing in these last days. Though they went through trials and were still able to overcome (despite their religious traditions and decoration) our children will not be able to do the same if we continue to remain ignorant. An increase of evil is already consuming this generation, including its Christians. God is calling us out of our spiritual ignorance. Acts 17:30: And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent. You may think following religious tradition was good enough for your forefathers so it is good enough for you, but following their example is spiritually dangerous. Ezekiel 20:17-19: Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness. But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them. Our generation had better stop following after man’s traditions and start following after God! God will not adjust His Word to fit our traditions. God will not change the truth of His Word. To receive God’s promises and freedom we must change our lives to fit His Word, the Bible. Psalm 89:34: My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. God tells His people in scripture not to have graven images. We cannot disregard God’s command just because we give them religious titles or put wings on them.
Please pray: Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I confess to you my sin of rejecting you (by not following your commandments). I also ask that you would forgive my family for rejecting you and teaching me to do the same. I ask forgiveness for the abominations I have committed, including the abominations I have brought into my home, because I did not know the truth about your Word (the Bible). I apply the blood of your Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to my life and the lives of all present and future generations in my family. I ask you to destroy all evil assignments against us. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I also ask you to stop and destroy every evil assignment against my children on my spouse (or ex-spouse’s) side of the family. Through my faith in Jesus Christ I believe that all evil assignments against my generation and future generations have been cancelled. It is my prayer that from this day forward my entire family will make a decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and never reject Him or His commandments! Amen.
(For some startling information about winged lady statues and images and their origin see my documents called ‘Introduction to Lilith’; and ‘Lilith myth and lady angels’, which also includes some info about her vampiress persona. Ask me for a copy of them!)
Additional note about lady images with wings: In the Bible there is another scripture where a woman is given wings. It is found in the book of Revelation. However, the scripture itself will prove that this also is not a lady angel. Revelation 12:1-2, 5, 14: AND there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown ot twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. The woman in Revelation Chapter 12 had a child – and angels do not have children. This was no angel! God never intended for people to take scripture out of context by making lady statues and images with wings and then labeling them as angels. Due to the ritualistic traditions of man many of God’s people are doing this and are being led astray. By having these images many Christians are following a false and dangerous spiritual path. They are certainly not following God’s Word. The winged woman in Revelation Chapter 12 is not an angel but is symbolic of the persecution and flight of Israel. Her eagle wings are symbolic of strength and safety. Isaiah 40:31: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Some Bible scholars believe the wings in Revelation 12:14 are also symbolic of the Old and the New Testament.
