Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)
Some have asked me questions concerning the Trinity. They have asked me how can there be three when the Bible says they are all one? For this reason I give you the following scriptures and ask this one simple question. If God and Jesus are only one being then whose right hand is Jesus sitting next to?
Romans 8:34 (King James Version)
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Mark 16:19 (King James Version)
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Acts 2:33 (King James Version)
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Acts 7:55 (King James Version)
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
1 Peter 3:22 (King James Version)
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Matthew 22:44 (King James Version)
44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
*** Also, what about the scripture here in John where he is praying for all of us. All of the people who would come to know him. Jesus is praying that we all become one. Obviously we cannot all be one person, but we can belong to one body. The body of Christ!
John 17:20-21 (King James Version)
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
*** I believe this is how the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit can be referred to as One yet be Three. They are one Godhead but that Godhead is made up of three beings. I think it is kind of like a 3 leaf clover. It is all the same leaf but there are still three distinct parts of that leaf.
1 John 5:7 (King James Version)
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
