Christ Consciousness (spiritual deception)
The Bible warns against following after false christs. Mark 13:22: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. I John 2:22: Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. I John 4:1: BELOVED, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. You notice in these verses it says the word ‘spirit’. The Bible warns us against believing or following just any spirit (small s, not capital S as in Holy Spirit). When God warns us against following just any spirit, and tells us to try (or discern) the spirits to see whether they are from Him, He even means to test the ones claiming to be Christ!
‘Christ Consciousness’ is a New-Age anti-Christ group, which meets to meditate, astral project and discover ‘former lives’, etc. – which are all false practices. See my document on the false belief of ‘reincarnation’, which is very popular in both New-Age and false Eastern religion. Also see my document on the ‘voices of deception behind religious imagery’. New-Age anti-Christ groups publish essays and even hold meetings near local churches. They are one of many groups using the deceptive terminology ‘Christ Consciousness’ meant to lure people to the name of Christ and then give them Satan’s counterfeit spirituality. They believe that Jesus is only a state of consciousness. They advertise and publish locally in New-Age ‘Health and Wellness’ catalogs and magazines. ‘Christ Consciousness’ is one of many New-Age groups using deceptive terms and titles with a ‘Christian’ sound. These deceptive, Christian-sounding, groups are rapidly growing in today’s New-Age movement. They are using methods of ancient mysticism (which includes meditation) and other false religious methods to call upon or invoke evil spirit guides – even guides they refer to as Jesus or the Christ. Ancient mysticism is also the spiritual root of false Eastern religion. In New-Age belief a false spirit guide appears to them resembling the man Christians refer toas Jesus Christ, based on pictures and statues they have been exposed to all their life. Many people accept this evil familiar spirit, sent by Satan, because it looks very familiar to them – it looks just like the man in the picture. Matthew 24:23: Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. Note: Even Christians would not recognize this false Christ spirit as one of Satan’s evil deceptions because it is not ugly and does not have big horns. (Extra note: II John 1:7: For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. There are some who believe and teach that Jesus is only a state of consciousness. That he did not come in the flesh. But, as scripture says these are deceivers and antichrists!)
