Genesis Chapter 6

This document explains evil sexual spirits and the affect they can have on people, including Christians. Many people have experienced these sexual spirits but never understood why they were being visited by them; or where they came from. Let’s begin with the following scriptural foundation.
· Genesis 6:1: And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
· Genesis 6:2: That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
· Genesis 6:3: And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
· Genesis 6:4: There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
· Genesis 6:5: And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
· Genesis 6:6: And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
· Genesis 6:7: And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
· Genesis 6:8: But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
· Genesis 6:9: These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
· Genesis 6:10: And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
· Genesis 6:11: The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
· Genesis 6:12: And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
· Genesis 6:13: And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Many have falsely interpreted the words “sons of God” in Genesis 6:2-4 to mean actual ‘angels’, more specifically fallen angels. These supposed angels are believed by many to have married the women the Bible calls the “daughters of men”, and had sexual relations with them, creating children. It is true that the “sons of God” in Genesis 6 married the “daughters of men”, but these women married men not spirits. Angels are spirits (whether fallen or otherwise). The “sons of God” were men who were greatly affected by the evil sexual spirits that operated through the lives of the women in Genesis Chapter 6; however, the men themselves were not spirits. Spirits are not born and they do not age; but the “sons” in Genesis 6 were born (check Hebrew meaning of the word ‘sons’ below). The reason scripture only calls the men sons of God; and not the daughters, is because these particular women did not serve God. These women were pagan idol worshippers who did not worship God but worshipped idols, and also worshipped the evil sexual spirits (fallen angels) which lurked behind and operated through the idols they reverenced.
The Hebrew word for ‘sons’ in Genesis 6:2, 4,is “ben, bane; …age… one born… child… firstborn… old… young”. Notice that the Hebrew meaning of ‘sons’ is “one born”. Scripture does not tell us that angels are born, neither does it tell us that angels have an age. But, the word ‘sons’ in Genesis 6 means “one born”, and one with “age”. Sons in Genesis Chapter 6 cannot be referring to angels as some believe and teach. Please keep this in mind as we continue.
Evil spirits become sexual by exploiting the body of the person(s) they are possessing. Evil spirits use the body of this person to try and seduce others. As was the case of the daughters of men in Genesis 6. Evil spirits used these women to seduce the sons of God, eventually oppressing them. Evil spirits exploited these women and used them to seduce the men of God into marrying and having sexual relations with them, in an effort to oppress these men of God, eventually drawing them away from God. II Corinthians 6:14: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? Even today there are evil sexual spirits which have a profound affect on people, including Christians. However, these evil spirits cannot and never could impregnate a woman (as some falsely believe happened in Genesis 6). Evil sexual spirits can affect or stimulate anyone, but they cannot impregnate anyone.
Some Christians, due to lack of Biblical knowledge, allow evil sexual spirits to operate in their lives. They are oppressed! These Christians are experiencing evil sexual thoughts and do not understand why they are in bondage to these thoughts. It is because they do not know the truth about how, or whom these evil spirits operate through; including the unclean objects these evil spirits lurk behind. This is what we will discuss in this document. We will begin with the theory that the “sons of God” were ‘angels’; and how this theory cannot be true.
To believe the “sons of God” in Genesis 6 were actual angels, or fallen angels, produces more questions than answers.
· If the “sons of God” in Genesis 6:2 were actually angels why does the Lord say in Genesis 6:3: …My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh… He says man (flesh), not angels?
· How can angels (which are not flesh), and woman (which is flesh), create a baby? The only Spirit with the ability to mandate life between Spirit and human is the Holy Spirit – which He did through the virgin birth – this is very important and will be addressed in this document!
· Why does God say in Genesis 6:6 that it grieved His heart that He had made man? Again, God did not say angels; He said man.
· What about Genesis 6:12-13, which says all flesh had corrupted his way, and that God would end all flesh? (Leaving only Noah and his family.) God says flesh had corrupted his way, and angels are ‘spirit’ not ‘flesh’. If “sons of God” were angels why did God punish men (flesh) for what angels (spirit) supposedly did?
· If “sons of God” were angels why does the following verse in Hebrews plainly state that God did not at any time call His angels ‘sons’? Hebrews 1:5: For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? I know that scripture is addressing Jesus here but it still says that he did not at any time call angels’ sons. In scripture angels do not even address God as ‘Father’!
· If “sons of God” were actually fallen angels why would scripture call them sons of God, speaking as if they still belonged to God?
· Matthew 22:30; Mark 12:25; and Luke 20:35-36 says angels do not marry, but the “sons of God” in Genesis 6:2 took the “daughters of men” as wives!
· If the “sons of God” were angels that fell because they took the “daughters of men” as their wives this still would not explain how angels would be able to procreate (produce children) with a human being.
· If you are still not convinced then look at the following scripture. I Corinthians 15:40: There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. The New Testament was translated from Greek into English. Terrestrial in the Greek is “epigeios” meaning “worldly, earthly, in earth.” Celestial in the Greek is “epouranios” meaning “above the sky, heavenly.” This scripture reveals that celestial (spiritual bodies) and earthly (fleshly) bodies cannot be combined! This scripture separates them and says each has its own glory. In other words, each are set apart and cannot be joined…whether fallen angels or not the two (celestial and terrestrial) cannot combine or procreate.
To believe the “sons of God” in Genesis 6:2-4 were actually angels contradicts scripture. Hebrews 1:5: For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? Matthew 22:30: For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Mark 12:25: For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. Luke 20:34-36: And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage. Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Scripture above says that people (when they get to heaven) will be as, or equal to angels where marriage or death is concerned. In heaven we will be like them because there will be no need for marriage, and there will be no more death. The scripture does not say people will be, or are, angels. Being “as” or “equal” to angels, and being angels, is two totally different things. See my important document concerning ‘angels’. Ask me for a copy.
Angels are not at any time called sons. Scripture refers only to people as “the children of God, being the children of the resurrection”. Angels are spirits, who cannot die, and who do not marry. There are other references in Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7 (OKJ version) to the “sons of God”; however, in these scripture references again it does not say these were angels. The Hebrew translation does not even call these “sons” angels. As in Genesis, scripture references in Job do not even give any explanation of how it would be possible for an angel to impregnate a woman. You may want to search your Hebrew concordance to see that the “sons” in Genesis and Job are not called angels, nor does the New Testament Greek translation call sons angels. The subject of discussion in this document is sexual so the only scriptural references to the “sons of God” that will be used are in Genesis Chapter 6, since this is the only section of scripture (verses 2 and 4) which places “sons of God” and the “daughters of men” in a marriage union. This implies a sexual act since children were conceived.
There are many Christians who actually believe, and teach, that the sons of God in Genesis Chapter 6 were fallen angels (evil spirits) who had the ability to impregnate the daughters of men (who were flesh) and produce children. This is an abomination! They base their theory on Genesis 3:15: (God telling Satan) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. They believe these two words “thy seed” means that Satan can procreate. However, we must look at one scripture in light of another scripture. In John 8:44 Satan is referred to as the father of some of the Jewish Scribes and Pharisees, but does this mean they were the actual offspringof Satan. Of course not! John 8:44: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. God is the Father of those who accept His Son Jesus Christ as their Savior; and Satan is the father of those who do not – or of those who claim to serve God, but just as the Jewish Pharisees and Scribes in John 8:41-47 they do not walk in the truth of God’s Word (who is Jesus Christ). John 1:1: IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (Speaking of Jesus Christ) Revelation 19:13: And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: [and his name is called The Word of God].
God created all of mankind, and it was God’s mandate for man and woman to reproduce (Genesis 1:27-28) – not for Satan and woman, or evil spirits (fallen angels) and woman; or even God’s angels and woman. Nowhere in scripture is there any proof that Satan, or any of his evil spirits, have the ability to create life – yet people teach it as Biblical fact. Satan is not the creator of life, but the destroyer of life. John 10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. God is the creator of life, and it is through His Son Jesus Christ that we have life and have it more abundantly.
There is, and always will be, enmity between the true followers of God and those who claim to be followers. This enmity is happening in the church today between the true followers of God, and those having a Pharisee spirit (or religious spirit). The church members who have a religious spirit, not a real relationship with God through Jesus Christ, are wrongfully casting God’s true followers out of the Church.
As Christians, we must always study one scripture in light of another scripture in order to confirm any teaching or theory. This is why scripture references are adamantly placed throughout this document. It is only through scripture, and the Holy Spirit’s leading, that we can learn God’s truth. John 8:31-32: Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
The “sons of God” in Genesis Chapter 6 could not have been angels (fallen or otherwise) because only the sexual union of a man with a woman will result in the conception of a baby. A fleshly being united with a spirit being cannot create a baby. The only Spirit that has ever had the power to place a baby in a fleshly being is the Holy Spirit. The “virgin” birth of Jesus Christ is the one and only time a baby has ever resulted without sexual intercourse. Isaiah 7:14: Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Luke 1:34-35: Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. There is absolutely no power, other than God’s power, able to bring forth a baby with only a Spirit and a fleshly being (woman). The false teaching that Satan (or any spirits, evil or good) could impregnate a woman is an absolute lie. To believe that an angel, a created spirit, would have power to give or produce life (sexually or otherwise) is blasphemous!
The “sons of God” in Genesis Chapter 6 were nothing more than ‘Godly men’. These were men who believed in God during that time period, but married women that did not know God. Scripture refers to these women as the “daughters of men”. These men, the sons of God, fell away from God after marrying these pagan women. This left only Noah who walked with God. Genesis 6:8-9: But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Noah came from the bloodline of Seth and Enos. Seth was the son born to Adam and Eve after Cain had killed Abel (Genesis 4:25). Enos was Seth’s son, and it was in Enos’ time that men began to call on God. Genesis 4:26: And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord. After Cain had killed Abel there was separation from God: Genesis 4:16: And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. It is Cain’s bloodline that the “daughters of men” came from. The men, “sons of God”, came from Seth’s bloodline. These sons of God married the daughters of men from Cain’s bloodline. These are the “sons of God” and “the daughters of men” that Genesis 6 refers to. The reason these men fell away from God is because they were unequally yoked with these pagan women. Paganism has such a strong and sexually unclean influence that not only did it pull these men away from God but the world eventually became so evil that God destroyed everyone, with the exception of Noah and his family. The Bible warns God’s people against being unequally yoked with unbelievers. II Corinthians 6:14: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? God warns His people throughout the Bible against marrying unbelievers, especially pagan idol worshippers, because it will connect God’s people sexually to the same evil unclean spirits that pagans serve. This is what happened to the “sons of God” in Genesis 6,eventually causing them to turn away from God. It is still causing God’s people to turn away from Him in these last days. There are unclean and evil sexual spirits connected to all idols and images. This is why God warns His people not to participate in paganism – and certainly not to marry (be unequally yoked to) someone connected to false worship. After all, look at what happened to Solomon when he married pagan women! When a man and a woman marry they become one flesh. See scripture below. A person can be connected either through cords of righteousness or cords of unrighteousness. See my document concerning ‘unholy cords’, it includes prayer!
The following are scriptural examples of cords of righteousness – and unrighteousness:
Righteousness – Genesis 2:24: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Matthew 19:4-6: And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh. Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Mark 10:6-9: But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife: And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Ephesians 5:31: For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. Hosea 11:4: I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them. Psalm 129:4: The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
Unrighteousness – II Corinthians 6:14: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? Psalm 2:3: Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. Proverbs 5:22: His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. Unholy and unnatural ties cause pain, destruction, and bondage in a person’s life if these unrighteous ties or cords are not cut! See document on ‘unholy sexual cords’ for more information.
True Biblical knowledge about what really happened in Genesis Chapter 6 will help open our eyes Spiritually. We need God’s Biblical insight to what happened because the same unclean spirits are still trying to mess God’s people up today. Falsely concealed behind our Christian yet pagan statues and images these evil spirits are deceiving us. I Chronicles 16:26 and Psalm 96:5: For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord made the heavens. God warns His people continually throughout the Bible to stay away from paganism, including its idols and images. God does not tell us to change the names of the idols into Biblical names and put them in our house! God knows that having anything to do with idols and images will take us away from the One and Only True God. This is what happened to the “sons of God” in Genesis 6, the seducing unclean spirits connected to these pagan women (through their idolatry) eventually influenced the men away from God. The same thing even happened to King Solomon! And these evil unclean spirits are just as powerful today. They are still seducing God’s people through their mind and flesh. I Timothy 4:1: NOW the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. Christians are allowing seducing spirits access into their lives through their false idols and images; and through their un-Godly practices, religious doctrines, and traditions.
In Genesis Chapter 6 the seducing unclean spirits which possessed the “daughters of men” lured the “sons of God” into marrying. Together these men and women conceived children. The sons of God were led astray sexually by these women who worshipped idols. The concept which some believe about angels marrying women and having children by them just does not make sense. However, evil spirits seducing and coaxing the men of God into marrying the pagan women who worshipped and served these evil spirits (through idolatry) does make sense. Seducing unclean spirits continue to operate in the same way today – and they still operate through idols, images, and people.
Sexually seducing spirits can influence anyone – including Christians. Evil unclean spirits can affect all people by placing perverted thoughts into the person’s mind to seduce them. It is when a person repeatedly dwells on or acts out these evil perverted thoughts that the thoughts become their own. It is then that evil unclean spirits are able to entice the person, through the person’s own lust, to go deeper and deeper into sin. James 1:14-16: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren. Lust and desire does affect a person’s soul. The Hebrew word for ‘soul’ in the Old Testament is “nephesh, neh’-fesh; …sense… appetite… breath… desire… greedy… heart… life… lust… mind… pleasure… will”. The Greek word for ‘soul’ in the New Testament is “psuche, psoo-khay’; …breath… heart… mind”. The Greek terms “exactly correspond respectively” to the Hebrew.
Repeated sin leads to evil strongholds of oppression. These evil strongholds create subconscious fantasies and dreams in a person’s mind – fantasies that are used to trigger sexual stimulation in a person’s body. When a person is in a ‘subconscious’, or ‘unconscious’ state, evil spirits can give them the sensation of a sexual encounter much like intercourse. When the person awakens, or becomes ‘conscious’, they can physically feel the sexual affects of this evil encounter. However, these evil unclean spirits cannot conceive children with the person! Seducing unclean spirits can spiritually appear in a person’s conscious, subconscious, or unconscious mind through fantasies or sexual dreams. These evil unclean spirits can appear to be any gender the person desires. Whether an evil spirit really has a gender is not an issue, because a seducing and deceiving evil spirit can mimic either gender – male or female. Evil spirits become sexual by exploiting the body of the person(s) they are possessing; or in the Christian’s case, oppressing. Referred to as ‘incubi’ and ‘succubi’ spirits these sexually seducing spirits have been influencing people since the Genesis of time. Incubi or incubus is the name of the evil sexual spirit(s) that affects women; and succubi or succubus is the name of the evil sexual spirit(s) that affects men. See dictionary.
Today evil spirits can influence people through many different ways, and the affects can be confusing and traumatic. Many people who view occult movies, or who listen to occult styles of music, or books, and video games often experience the sensation of being held down while they sleep. They may try to wake up but cannot, they cannot move or talk – or they eventually wake up and find that their body has gone through the physical manifestation, or arousal, of a sexual act. Many times after these sexual encounters they feel as if they just had intercourse and realize that no other person participated – but it was an evil spirit (incubi or succubi). Some people experience extreme pain in their private area after these evil visitations. They feel as if they were dreaming, while at the same time it did not feel like a dream. This is part of Satan’s evil deception to make it appear as if it were only a dream. Those who have experienced this type of evil deception recognize that, although it seemed like a dream, it also seemed very real – and though no other person was present at the time every personal physical reaction was felt. Sometimes the person’s experience of being held down is not a sexual experience at all, but a terrifying one. While in terror they are unable to wake up – or sometimes they may think they are awake only to find they are still asleep and that an evil presence is with them, tormenting them. When they do finally awake they are in such extreme fear they cannot go back to sleep. Some Christians are even oppressed by these terrifying evil spirits, and are being held down or attacked sexually in their sleep. By watching, reading, or listening to things inspired by evil spirits these Christians have allowed unclean spiritual doorways to be opened in their home, mind, will, and emotions (soul) and the ‘incubi’ and ‘succubi’ spirits (or other evil spirits) are attacking their soul and flesh through lust. I Peter 2:11: Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. Lust does affect a person’s soul. If you are a Christian and are not watching, listening to, or reading things with evil or sexual content but are still experiencing evil or sexual attacks it could mean that you are being visited with the iniquity of your forefathers; due to the spiritually unclean items you may have in your home. Or perhaps you have participated in Yoga, acupressure or acupuncture, or even certain massage therapy techniques, without realizing the connection these practices have with false religion and unclean sexual spirits. Deuteronomy 7:26: Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shall utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing. Joshua 6:18: And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing lest ye make yourselves accursed when ye take of the accursed thing and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. Deuteronomy 23:14: For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee. II Corinthians 6:17: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
God promises his people sleep and peace, but we must stand on the wisdom of God’s Word and obey it – then we will truly experience God’s peace and freedom. Psalm 91:5: Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day. Proverbs 3:24: When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
