Cherub/Cherubim: The following is a Biblical description of Cherubim (plural for Cherub) – also referred to as living creatures. As you can see Cherubs are not babies with wings! Also included is Seraphim description. Ezekiel 1:3-28: The word of the Lord came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him. And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire. Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man. And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings. And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings. Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies. And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went. As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went fourth lightning. And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning. Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel. When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went. As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four. And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above. And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies. And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings. And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake. Ezekiel 10:1-22: Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne. And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight. Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court. Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD's glory. And the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh. And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels. And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out. And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man's hand under their wings. And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone. And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel. When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went. And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had. As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel. And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar. And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them. When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them. Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims. And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims. Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings. And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward. Isaiah 6:2-3: Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
VERY IMPORTANT: Using an animal, or their image, as a mediator to the spiritual realm (or even as a sexual connection) will only put people in contact with evil familiar spirits. Having, or displaying, spiritual symbolism creates an inviting spiritual atmosphere for evil ‘familiar’ spirits who can, and do, mimic animals. These evil spirits mimic animals in an attempt to try and communicate with people. Some people even call these false animal spirits their spirit guides – not knowing it is an evil spirit they are communicating with. Many people do not realize that God’s living animals do not have a rational spirit mind. They have a body and soul, but not a rational thinking spirit. Animals are not rational thinking beings. Their only resemblance to man’s spirit is that they breathe. When referring to any spirit the Hebrew word for ‘spirit’ in the Old Testament is “ruwach, roo’-akh; …by resemblance breath… exhalation… life… by resemblance spirit, but only of a rational being… air… blast… mind… wind”. The Greek word for ‘spirit’ in the New Testament is “pneuma, pnyoo’-mah; a current of air, i.e. breath (blast) or a breeze… a spirit, i.e. (human) the rational soul… life… mind”. Animals have a ‘soul’ (heart, mind, emotions, appetite, etc) but they cannot think rationally. The Hebrew word for ‘soul’ in the Old Testament is “nephesh, neh’-fesh; a breathing creature, i.e. animal… beast”. The Greek word for ‘soul’ in the New Testament is “psuche, psoo-khay” and the Greek terms “exactly correspond respectively” to the Hebrew. Though God’s real animals are understanding they were not created with a rational thinking mind. Real animals, as we know them, are not rational thinking beings – andreal animals do not communicate with us in spirit form. However, Satan and his evil spirits can! Satan who was created a cherub, as described in the Bible in Ezekiel 28, has the likeness of animal faces but he is not a real animal (as we know them). Proof of Satan’s animal likenesses and his human faceis found in God’s Word. Again, see Ezekiel 28:13-17; Ezekiel 1:3-10; andEzekiel 10:14-22 to confirm Satan’s human and animal likenesses – and be assured that Satan does use the face of ordinary man as a spiritual connector. One of his human likenesses is represented through the false and blasphemous pictures people are calling Jesus. Anything that is not scriptural is anti-Christ! And pictures of Jesus are not scriptural. See my document on ‘pictures of Jesus’.
Although Satan does not always think rationally now God did create Lucifer (who later became known as Satan) as a rational thinking being. It was his (Lucifer’s) own pride and desire to become God that made him begin to think irrationally. God did not create sin (iniquity) in Lucifer; but iniquity originated in him (Lucifer) eventually turning him into what we now know as Satan. Ezekiel 28:14-15: Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou was perfect in thy ways from the day that thou was created, till iniquity was found in thee. Isaiah 14:12-15: How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the side of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
(Be assured that if something comes to you in the spirit form of an animal and tries to communicate or guide you, it is not a real animal but a spiritual deception of Satan!)
